(The Post News)– United States President Donald Trump’s first address at the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) on Tuesday addressed the “immigration disaster” in Europe, among other topics.
Surrounded by several world leaders, who are also attending the UNGA in New York, the president voiced his concern over Europe’s immigration and climate change policies. He claims these are the “double-tailed monster” destroying the continent. He explained that the green energy initiative, encouraging the use of renewable energy sources, is a “scam” and more expensive than fossil fuel energy. He also said that immigration is “destroying [European] heritage.”
Referring to immigration, he accused Europe of trying to be “politically correct” but advised the countries to close their open borders as they are “going to hell.” He also accused United Nations aid agencies of being the cause of this irregular migration. He alleged in the U.S. that they have helped funnel “millions” of migrants to “invade” the U.S.
Trump’s comments come as over 110,000 left-wing protesters took to the streets of central London on 13 September. Dubbed “the largest right-wing demonstrations in decades,” British protesters gathered together to march for freedom of speech and to take a stand against illegal immigration. The protest was organized and led by anti-Muslim and anti-immigration activist Tommy Robinson.
Within his 1-hour-long speech at the UNGA, the president also took a shot at London’s first Muslim mayor, Sadiq Khan, saying he is “terrible” and is changing the British capital in accordance with the “Sharia law.” The Sharia law are principles from the Qur’an that Muslims must follow, such as prayer and halal food, etc.
Khan’s spokesperson simply dismissed Trump’s comments, saying that they are “appalling and bigoted”; therefore, he will not dignify them with a response.
