(The Post News) – Dua Lipa, an English pop sensation, has refuted claims she had expelled David Levy, her Jewish agent, for writing a letter opposing the admission of the contentious Northern Irish rap duo Kneecap at this year’s Glastonbury Festival.
According to reports early this week, Lipa severed her business ties with her European agent, Levy, when he co-signed a confidential letter to Michael Eavis, the founder of Glastonbury, and his daughter, Emily Eavis. Due to Kneecap’s anti-Israel views, which include instances like flying a Hezbollah banner during a live event, the letter encouraged festival organizers to remove the band from the program. According to reports, the letter presented the group’s involvement as insulting given the escalating worries about provocation and hatred.

Lipa vehemently denied allegations that her choice was socially driven or related to Levy’s Jewish background or position on Israel, even though she had switched agents within her organization.
Lipa claimed the press fabricated the story to make outrageous headlines and referred to the coverage as “wholly untrue.” In a press release, she stated, “It is always Free Palestine, but it is extremely distressing to take advantage of a worldwide sorrow to promote publications.” She failed to affirm that Levy’s opinions played any part in her choice to change her image, regardless of how she isolated herself from him.
William Morris Endeavor (WME), her existing agency, acknowledged the fact that Levy has not been actively involved in Lipa’s daily management since 2019. The agency claims that Levy’s role in her Glastonbury letter had nothing to do with the latest transition, which just required designating a replacement agent to manage her activities going forward.
Nevertheless, considering Lipa’s vocal support for Palestinian liberties, certain analysts and public sources viewed the change in scheduling as a response to Levy’s criticism of Kneecap. The musician has been outspoken about the fighting in Gaza and has repeatedly shown support for the Palestinian struggle.
The musical trio at the heart of the Glastonbury dispute, Kneecap, has not stopped stirring up trouble. The band has canceled its forthcoming U.S. tour because one of them is being investigated for terrorism-related offenses in the judicial case.
Dua Lipa’s worldwide career is currently being managed by an independent agent, however she is still signed by WME. Although she continues to support Palestine, she disputes that her views on politics have affected any subsequent selections and argues the recent allegations surrounding Levy’s termination are damaging and inaccurate.
