(The Post News) – Springboks will play without their prop Ox Nche due to an injury for their crunch Championship Test against Argentina in Durban on Saturday, while Boan Venter in from the bench to start in the front row.
Nche’s replacement
Nche’s withdrawal prompted a reshuffle that saw Venter, originally listed among the replacements, move into the starting lineup alongside Malcolm Marx and Thomas du Toit. Jan-Hendrik Wessels will now provide cover as prop, while Van Staden takes on the role of back-up hooker from the bench.
Like Wessels, who is equally adept at playing both prop and hooker, Van Staden offers similar versatility, comfortably switching between flanker and hooker a skill he showcased during the 2023 Rugby World Cup.
