(The Post News)- President Donald Trump of the United States has declared that he will move the 2026 World Cup from any United States towns that he deems dangerous.
The United States is jointly organizing the 48-team tournament with Canada and Mexico, with games being played in 11 American towns. The United States will host 78 of the 104 scheduled games, which includes the championship game.
It’s also questionable if Trump is legally able to make these kinds of choices. Nonetheless, he oversees the United States World Cup organizing team and has remained close to FIFA President Gianni Infantino. “The World Cup is going to be secure,” Trump told press in the Oval Office. We’re going to relocate games if I believe an area is unsafe.
Atlanta, Boston, Dallas, Houston, Kansas City, Los Angeles, Miami, New York, Philadelphia, San Francisco, and Seattle are the eleven cities throughout the United States that will host the event. He was notably questioned by reporters over the Democrat-governed cities of San Francisco and Seattle, which are scheduled for hosting six games each. He additionally picked up Los Angeles, another liberal stronghold that will host the 2028 Summer Olympics and eight World Cup matches.
Trump’s Focus on Corruption
One of the main focuses of Trump’s national strategy is corruption. He has stationed government officials and National Guard troops in several cities, even though the latest information indicates that overall crime has decreased from a 2023 peak. He said he intends to send troops to Memphis and Chicago, following his deployment to Washington, D.C., last month.
He responded to the uproar over deportation operations in June by ordering 2,000 National Guard troops to the city of Los Angeles. On December 5, the World Cup qualifying selection will take place in Washington, D.C. The fact that FIFA and UEFA have barred Russia from competing internationally following their 2022 invasion of Ukraine, and Trump’s May remark that permitting Russia to compete in the international competition might push for a resolution to the conflict in Ukraine, were contentious. Despite Russia, World Cup qualifying has commenced already.
