(The Post News)- Ethan Chislett, an addition to Kaizer Chiefs, could get his eagerly anticipated debut when Amakhosi plays AmaZulu for the DStv Premiership matchup this week.
The 27-year-old offensive midfielder has not yet made his official debut game for the Glamour Boys, although he signed with the Soweto giants in July following a run with Port Vale of English League One.
The club’s fans were thrilled to witness Chislett arrive and are looking forward to seeing what their Durban native can do for the team. Chislett, who is renowned for his inventiveness, skill, and goal-scoring prowess, provides a unique midfield element that may be essential as the Chiefs try to establish stability in their play this year.
Chislett’s fitness was praised by coach Ben Youssef, who hinted that his appearance would not be far off. At a pre-game conference, Ben Youssef stated, “Ethan continues to be exercising effectively and appears to be in excellent form.”
He has been training constantly with us, and he is adjusting himself to our technique and playing style rather nicely. He will undoubtedly be considered for the forthcoming game against AmaZulu.
Ben Youssef noted that Chislett is working diligently to earn his place in the game day lineup, even though the technical staff is still unsure that he will begin playing or appear on the bench.
Coach Confirms Chislett’s Readiness
In agreement with Ben Youssef, co-coach Cedric Kaze stated that Chislett is healthy and ready for consideration. “He’s doing well in conditioning, and we are happy with the manner in which he’s adapted to the team. “We desire greater innovation and a proactive push in the attacking midfield position, and he presents us an additional choice in that area,” Kaze added.
Kaizer Chiefs is trying to gain pace and move up the PSL standings at the precise moment of Chislett’s possible appearance. The attention remaining on this former English Football League star can bring the excitement we, the club, have been lacking in previous games, as supporters are desperate for a change in form.
If chosen, the game with AmaZulu will be Chislett’s first game for Kaizer Chiefs as well as his first in the highest division of South African sport, which is a big accomplishment for the native who played most of his professional soccer career in the United Kingdom.
