(The Post News)- In a recent interview on L-Tido’s podcast, Kelly Khumalo made news by publicly criticizing the parenting of her kids’ fathers for not being more involved and supportive. The musician and TV personality admitted openly that she had taken full accountability for parenting her three children, primarily by herself.
Khumalo singled out the late Senzo Meyiwa for being the rare exception, characterizing the majority of the dads as incompetent and unavailable. Before his untimely death in 2014, she commended Meyiwa, the former Bafana Bafana goalie who raised her daughter Thingolenkosazana, for having been an attentive and involved dad.
She previously criticized her former spouse, Jub Jub, with whom she has a son named Christian, and accused some men of avoiding accountability by claiming that women restrict access to the kids they have. Public arguments and claims of abuse have characterized their turbulent affair.
Though Khumalo has not publicly acknowledged it, it is often believed that retired football player Mthokozisi Yende is the father of her youngest kid.
Khumalo Speaks on Questions Surrounding Meyiwa’s Death
Khumalo also talked about the continuous stress of being questioned about Meyiwa’s passing during the conversation. She acknowledged that she has attempted to move on and recover while also struggling with other kinds of losses, such as family members, and additionally stated that she is tired of the media’s attention on the tragedy, even after 14 years had passed.
Still, Meyiwa is haunted by the memory of her murder. Khumalo’s name has come up several times during the search since the beginning. Initially believed to be a theft gone bad, police have speculated that the homicide might have been planned. Two alleged men’s testimony linked Khumalo, claiming she planned and funded the attack.
Although Khumalo makes an effort to put this tragedy behind her and concentrate on her performances and her loved ones, the incident continues to cast a shadow over her professional and personal life.
