(The Post News) – The NFL’s choice of Puerto Rican artist Bad Bunny as the 2026 Super Bowl halftime headlining act in Santa Clara, California, was publicly condemned by President Donald Trump.
Throughout a discussion with NewsMax presenter Greg Kelly, Trump stated that he had “never heard” about the reggaeton artist. Kelly questioned Trump if supporters should boycott the NFL because of its decision after claiming that Bad Bunny “hates ICE” and regularly calls everything he doesn’t like “racist.”
In response, Trump said, “I’ve never heard of him. It’s crazy, and I have no idea who he is or why people are doing this”. They then point the finger at a promoter they employed to manage entertainment. It is completely absurd, in my opinion.
Trump’s comments are in line with the opinions of his supporters and former government officials. A former Trump advisor hinted earlier in the month that ICE would attend the 2026 Super Bowl. Additionally, according to Fox News, Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem called the NFL “so weak” for supporting the artist and chastised the league for choosing Bad Bunny. She also declared that border patrol agents would be stationed at Levi’s Stadium.
