(The Post News) – This week, Freida Parton’s emotional plea triggered an unexpected surge of media attention for her sister, country music legend Dolly Parton.
Freida posted a prayer request on Facebook on Tuesday afternoon, stating that she was up the entire night praying for her sister. Fans began speculating about Dolly’s health after the heartfelt tweet went viral online.
Through each prayer said for her, Freida stated, “I know in my heart that she’s going to be perfectly okay. She’s resilient and loved.” Many admirers were concerned that Dolly, 79, was having a major health problem because of the tone of the tweet, even though she didn’t provide any specifics.
The statement quickly made rounds as supporters and news outlets attempted to ascertain if Dolly’s health had become more critical compared to how it was originally thought. It received many shares on Facebook, with around 4,000 responses and 19,000 shares.
Later that night, in reaction to the mounting apprehension, Freida took to the internet once more to make her motives clear. She clarified that her plea for prayer was made out of affection and belief and did not seek to raise any alarms.
She stated, “I would like to clarify something. When I reached out for prayers for Dolly, my intention was not to frighten anyone or come across as overly serious. I only requested for prayers given that I firmly trust in the efficacy of prayer and she has been feeling rather under the weather.”
Freida made it clear that it was only an instance of sisterly care and not an urgent matter. She went on to say, “It was just a little sister requesting prayers for her older sister. I appreciate everyone encouraging her. Your affection has an impact.”
Fans got comfort that the problems were not life-threatening, even though Dolly had previously stated at the end of September that she was delaying her stay in Vegas because of “some health challenges.” The following day, Dolly herself responded to the worry in an Instagram video, joking, “I ain’t dead yet!” and expressing gratitude to her supporters for their loyalty.
Freida’s heartfelt statement served as an indication of the sisters’ close relationship and Dolly’s deep connection with her followers, many of whom still keep her in their sincere prayers and best wishes.
