(The Post News) – The six-year divorce fight between actress and fashion designer Enhle Mbali Mlotshwa and Grammy-winning DJ and music producer Black Coffee, real name Nkosinathi Maphumulo, is now over.
Enhle Mbali reflected on the challenging road that taught her important lessons regarding life in a stirring Instagram post announcing the change to her original name.
“I say this with a lot of feeling today. My official name is Miss Mlotshwa. I’m incredibly thankful for this awful adventure, which has taught me several things,” Enhle Mbali wrote.
She had to demonstrate the legality of her customary marriage to Black Coffee, which existed prior to their initial agreement, all through the court case.
“Today God has set a table before me,” she said, thanking her legal representation. “Those who appear in this picture have my sincere gratitude. These representatives, senior attorneys, and lawyers challenged me, made me realize how strong I am, and made me realize how important it is to fight for women’s liberties in South Africa as well as for my kids.”
Enhle Mbali’s attorneys, Jerry Nkeli Attorneys and Associates, stated on social media that the legal system had decided in her favour and granted her all of the benefits she had requested.
The court recognized the traditional marriage as a shared ownership arrangement and declared it legal. Additionally, it declared the 2017 marriage agreement void, claiming that Enhle Mbali agreed to it under false pretences without having the appropriate legal counsel. As a result, Black Coffee is now required to pay marital support.
Both of them declared their split in 2019, and since then, their split has regularly made news, revealing sensitive information about them. Mlotshwa and Black Coffee have now formally divorced, but they continue to live on and are putting their kids’ welfare first.
