(The Post News)- Travis Scott has been traveling the world for the past two years as part of the Circus Maximus tour to promote UTOPIA, and the voyage is still ongoing.
Over 70,000 people attended a performance in Johannesburg’s FNB Stadium on Saturday, October 11. Although the event was considered a success, there was considerable controversy after a fan claimed that the artist had been noticeably late. Fans refer to Travis Scott as La Flame, who refuted the assertion, telling supporters that everything proceeded as planned.
Joburg ETC claims that inclement weather caused logistical problems, including lightning delays, which resulted in the event starting approximately 90 minutes later than planned. Even though the delayed start caused annoyance on the internet, the program was eventually greeted with enthusiasm after it started.
The rapper, who was born in Houston, responded to the controversy on social media after the show. He addressed the criticism of the delay by sharing fan-made videos and showing his amazement by saying, “Tonight taught me a thing that’s different; I was not one hour late. There was a lightning delay, but always ready, brudda flame,” he remarked in response to a page accusing him of being an hour late.

The Johannesburg show closely paralleled earlier dates on the Circus Maximus tour. UTOPIA was represented by songs like “Hyaena,” “Modern Jam,” and “My Eyes,” but more recent Jackboys 2 tracks like “Champagne & Vacay” and “Dumbo” were also played. There were appearances of fan favorites like “Nightcrawler,” “Backrooms,” “Butterfly Effect,” and “Mamacita,” with “Fein” being played at least six times.
The older tracks in Travis Scott’s discography still have an effect, even though the emphasis is on more current work. His duet with Kendrick Lamar, “goosebumps,” was recently proclaimed the highest-certified hip-hop single ever by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). This honor rounds out what has already been a remarkable 2025 for the founder of Cactus Jack. Despite receiving mixed reviews from critics, a recently released compilation effort has continued to do well commercially.
