The maintenance project forms are believed to be part of ongoing efforts to strengthen the city’s water infrastructure and ensure a more stable and sustainable supply. Meanwhile, the City of Tshwane apologized for any inconvenience that may be experienced during the maintenance period.
Additionally, the city urged residents to use water sparingly and assist in conserving this vital resource by ensuring that they “do not water gardens, wash cars, clean driveways or pavements using hose pipes, or fill swimming pools.” The residents were also encouraged to flush toilets only when it is necessary, ensure they do not leave taps running while brushing teeth, and try reducing their daily water usage as much as possible.
The city is expected to provide water tanks and water assistance for affected areas. The scheduled maintenance is expected to take 24 hours; the city will inform residents if there are further delays.
