The Sharks, boosted by the return of 13 Bok stars, are determined to turn their home ground into a fortress once again.
(The Post News)- In an attempt to kickstart their season, the Sharks have turned all of their attention on their upcoming two United Rugby Championship (URC) home games.
On Saturday, coach John Plumtree’s team will host Ulster, and the following weekend, they will play the Scarlets in Durban. Plumtree has bolstered his starting lineup with 13 Springboks, including heavyweights Siya Kolisi and Eben Etzebeth, to secure their first victory of the season.
The Sharks have lost to the Glasgow Warriors and the reigning champions Leinster after three rounds, and they have drawn with the Dragons, all away from home. Plumtree is now relying on his talents to perform well in front of their fans back in Durban.
Plumtree remarked, “The Sharks have arguably never put together a stronger team. It has been difficult to foster unity amongst our normal championship players and the returning Boks, but our coaching staff has done a fantastic job of providing all the knowledge needed to expedite the process. We feel prepared to leave.”
The Sharks coach emphasized the club’s desire to make a comeback and assured them of a fierce effort against an undefeated Ulster team.
“Most sides have had difficulty winning away from home thus far; we’ll be right back in the mix if we can win in Durban. We’re concentrating on it right now, and we’ll re-evaluate in December,” Plumtree said.
With 10 points from two games, Ulster is in fifth place on the URC table going into the weekend, while The Sharks are in 13th place after three games.
