(The Post News)– Italian MotoGP rider Marco Bezzecchi continued his fast run of form by storming to another sprint race victory, this time at the Australian Grand Prix, just two weeks after his triumph in Indonesia.
The Aprilia Racing star showed incredible pace once again, bouncing back from an early mistake to deliver a commanding win at Phillip Island. Bezzecchi took control of the race in the closing laps, overtaking TrackhouseAprilia’s Raul Fernandez with three laps remaining before pulling away to secure his third sprint win in four weekends. Fernandez held on for second place, while Pedro Acosta completed the podium for KTM.
The race got off to a dramatic start as Alex Marquez launched from sixth on the grid to grab the holeshot, while pole-sitter Fabio Quartararo was swallowed by the pack. Marquez briefly led before Fernandez charged to the front at Miller Corner with a bold move from the second row. But Marquez’s momentum faded soon after, dropping him behind Bezzecchi as an all-Aprilia duel for the win took shape.
Bezzecchi began closing in on Fernandez around lap six, but an overambitious entry into Turn 10 saw him run wide and lose valuable time. Unfazed, the Italian immediately regrouped, slicing the gap in half on the very next lap and returning to striking distance by lap nine.
His decisive moment came on lap 10 at Southern Loop, where he swept past Fernandez with trademark precision. From there, Bezzecchi never looked back, stretching his lead to finish more than three seconds clear of the field.
It was a statement performance from the 2025 Aprilia rider, who has now cemented himself as one of the standout talents of the MotoGP season, blending raw speed, composure, and resilience to perfection.
