(The Post News) – Baroka FC have a signing of Tlisane Motaung as the club’s new head coach following the suspension of Dan Malesela. Motaung who has been without a job after parting ways with the University of Pretoria at the end of last season, will be assisted by Thoka Matsimela until end of the season.
Under his leadership, AmaTuks reached the PSL Promotional/Relegation Playoffs twice, in both the 2021/22 and 2023/24 seasons.
According to Diski Times, On Monday, the club’s chairman Khurishi Mphahlele said Malesela was suspended after Baroka dropped into the relegation spts.
Baroka find themselves in 15th spot in the Motsepe Foundation Championship on just four points, having picked up just a single win in seven outings. Last weekend Baroka lost on their home game against Pretoria University which landed them on their fifth defeat of the season.
Motaung’s first task will be a tough league match away to Hungry Lions on Saturday, 25 October. This will be followed by another tough away encounter against Upington City on Tuesday, 28 October.
The club is expected to make an official announcement on Tuesday afternoon ahead of a training session in Lebowakgomo.
