(The Post News) – The two suspects involved in the murder of Armand Swart being Lucky “Tshepo” Molefe and Thapelo Molefe have been reported by the South African Police Service to be on the run and that the police are currently in search of them.
It was brought to the attention of the Commission that certain members of the Molefe Family were allegedly involved in efforts to obstruct justice related to the arrests of Lucky and Thapelo Molefe. During the proceedings before the Madlanga Commission of Inquiry on Thursday, 23rd October 2025, an audio was played in which Katiso Molefe’s girlfriend, Fundiswa, instructs Lucky Molefe’s girlfriend, Lebo, to warn him to lay low because the police have been hunting him down.
According to “Witness B”, who is the Investigating Officer in Swart’s murder case who was testifying before the Commission, Lucky Molefe is referred to by his family as “Tshepo”. “Witness B” took a stand before the Madlanga Commission on Wednesday, 22nd October 2025, to testify on criminal activities that are inclusive of the developments in the murder case of engineer Armand Swart.
As the witness gave testimonies partially behind a closed door, due to security threats, it was well delivered that he witness is part of the elite investigative team now residing in a safe house after receiving death threats concerning the Swart case.
Her appearance was followed by damning revelations by “Witness A” earlier in this week who claimed that top law enforcement units have actively disrupted the calculated arrest of the suspect KT Molefe at his Sandhurst estate during December 2024.
Witness A also described the manner in which the HAWKS and Gauteng Traffic Police organizations almost sabotaged the high-profile raid during which a ahelicopter hovered aggressively over the property. According to Witness A, this was solely a tactic to intimidate the officers that were executing a search and seizure operation.
“It was a police traffic helicopter hovering so low over his house, we had to report it and call for reinforcements” Witness A testified.
Inside Molefe’s residential home, investigators had gotten a hold of a cache of sensitive documents, including those of Transnet-linked tender files and SK Group paperwork-raising eyebrows over that potential procurement fraud. there was a page filled with repeated signatures as though someone had been practicing forgeries.
During proceedings, a new batch of evidence came forward being a aWhatsapp Voicenote. In the audio recording, Fundiswa, Tshepo Molefe’s lover gave explicit directions on how Lucky Molefe should evade the capture tp Lebo, Lucky Molefe’s lover:
“Lebo, please tell Tshepo to stay far away from Soweto and not return to work until further notice. He must not be seen anywhere, and his phones must remain off. The lawyer and the brothers have agreed on this. If he has nowhere to stay, they’ll arrange accommodation for him. Please make sure that Tshepo gets this message.”
Fundiswa continues by suggesting additional steps to assist Lucky Molefe avoid being traced: “I told him to remove the tracker from the RS4 because authorities are looking for it. If he needs to go out, he should wear a cap, head covering, or sunglasses. And if he wants to drink, tell him to buy a bottle and do it at home-no going out until further notice.”
The Commission has heard whether was Swart’s murder tied to broader corruption networks with the involvement of public tenders and organizations.
