(The Post News)- The South African Weather Service (SAWS) has forecast contrasting weather conditions across the country this weekend, with a 30% chance of rain expected in most parts of the Western Cape, while Gauteng braces for clear skies and soaring temperatures above 30°C.
Cape Town residents are advised to keep their jerseys and blankets close, as the weather is expected to remain rainy and gloomy throughout the weekend. According to SAWS, both Saturday and Sunday will bring cloudy and rainy conditions to the province, with light showers possible in some coastal and mountainous areas.
“The Western Cape will experience mostly cloudy and rainy conditions with isolated showers in parts of the province,” SAWS said.
Gauteng Will not Expect any Rainy Weather Conditions this Weekend
Meanwhile, in Gauteng, the temperature is set to rise well above 30°C, with dry and sunny weather dominating the weekend. Residents are urged to stay hydrated and take precautions against heat exposure, especially during midday when temperatures will peak.
Weather experts have warned that the heatwave-like conditions in the interior could increase the risk of veld fires in dry areas.
