(The Post News) Cape Town City has confirmed the appointment of Andries Ulderink as the club’s new Head of Football, officially defining his role following his recent return to the Mother City.
His return to the club had sparked plenty of speculation in recent weeks, but Cape Town City has now set the record straight, the Dutchman will be in charge of overseeing all football operations.
The 56-year-old, who had a short spell as City’s head coach earlier this season before leaving to join Erik ten Hag’s staff at Bayer Leverkusen, will now take on a broader, more strategic role.
According to the reports from FARPost, Ulderink will be responsible for the club’s entire football structure, from the first team and youth development to recruitment, while also acting as the bridge between the sporting and business departments.
“I am happy to be here and ready to play my part in helping this club get back to where it belongs. City has a proud history and incredible supporters, and I am excited to be part of the project ahead,” said Ulderink on the Cape Town City FC Instagram.
With experience at top European clubs such as Rangers, Twente FC, Royal Antwerp, and Reading, Ulderink brings a wealth of knowledge and a global perspective, qualities that are expected to play a vital role in driving Cape Town City’s ambitions forward.
