(The Post News)- Hundreds of supporters flocked to OR Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg to celebrate the South African Women’s Cricket Team’s massive accomplishment.
The Proteas made history on Sunday when they advanced to their first-ever ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup final in India, and they went home with their silver medals.
The squad’s efforts during the tournament won the hearts of the country and demonstrated the growing power of women’s cricket in South Africa, even if they just lost out on winning the trophy. Their tenacity, talent, and solidarity on the global stage impressed both local supporters and the international cricket community.
