(The Post News) – A 23-year-old male has been implicated and suspected to have been an accomplice in a drive-by shooting incident that transpired on Saturday, 1st November 2025, in Reiger Park, Ekhuruleni, Gauteng leading to the untimely deaths of six individuals, including three women.
Suspect was brought into custody on Monday night, 3rd November 2025, following investigations that have been conducted by the Anti-gang unit.
Police Spokesperson, Dimakatso Nevhuhulwi confirmed that Acting Provincial Commissioner, Major General Fred Kekana had welcomed the arrest of the suspect.
The suspect is obligated to appear in the Boksburg Magistrate’s court on Wednesday, 5th November 2025.
Police officers stated that two vehicles, a silver VW Polo, as well as black VW Polo were spotted driving into the area on Saturday afternoon.
The passengers in both cars are said to have randomly fired bullets resulting in three more injured people.
Kekana gave credit to the team for their perseverance and relentless efforts in conducting the arrest, alongside passing a vote of thank to the community for the co-operation during this sensitive time.

Kekana said that the arrest would not have been conducted at such rapid sped had it not been for the community members.
In a different incident, another Anti-gang unit (AGU) team conducted an arrest of an elderly 62-year old male for being in possession of drugs as they were doing their routinely patrol in Reiger Park.
The suspect was stopped and searched. The police then discovered 14 ziplock bags which contained methacthinone (cat), 43 tablets of Mandraz and 105 split halves of Mandrax tablets.
