The Municipality said, “Teams are assisting affected businesses and property owners in flooded zones while also conducting on site inspections to assess storm-related damage, particularly to roads and paving that have been lifted by the downpour.”
They also confirmed that flooding at several substations caused electricity outages in parts of the CBD. Power restoration efforts were underway, with supply expected to return by Monday morning.
“All necessary resources have been mobilised to restore affected areas and ensure that essential services continue with minimal disruption,” the Municipality said.
Residents are urged to remain vigilant as forecasts warn of continued heavy rainfall and possible localised flooding in parts of KZN over the next two days.
