(The Post News)- Lood de Jager will miss the remainder of South Africa’s European tour, due to a four-match suspension for his red card against France.
Lood de Jager Banned for Four Matches After Red Card Against France.
The Springboks, who depend on the lock’s line-out prowess and experience, are severely hurt by his absence.
Thomas Ramos, a fullback for France, was struck in the head by De Jager’s shoulder during a clash. De Jager was dismissed for failing to use his arms during the tackle, and the French player was already on his knees.
The Springboks demonstrated their tenacity and discipline by fighting hard and winning 32–17 in Paris despite being reduced to 14 men.
At his subsequent disciplinary hearing, De Jager refused guilt. However, the committee considered the tackle reckless and issued the red card.
His suspension was shortened by two weeks for his good behaviour. Although he will miss forthcoming games versus Italy, Ireland, and Wales. He could avoid skipping a fourth match for his Japanese club if he completes World Rugby’s tackle school. The Springboks now suffer a leadership gap in their pack as they continue their northern tour.
