(The Post News)– Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos has expressed optimism over the team’s upcoming tournament. He believes that South Africa can carry over their winning ways to the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) next month.
He thinks his team is almost ready for the challenge in North Africa. The competition begins on December 21 and runs until January 18. South Africans believe the team will go even farther this time. This optimism comes after taking home a bronze medal in Ivory Coast two years prior.
Broos wasn’t quite pleased with Bafana’s recent 3-1 victory over Zambia at Gqeberha. He thought the first half lacked the vigor and passion he was hoping for. Nevertheless, he was pleased that his players took advantage of their opportunities and maintained composure during crucial situations.
Throughout the game, the coach made several adjustments to allow more players to earn valuable minutes. With a year of significant growth under their belt, he is concentrating on helping the team prepare for AFCON. Meanwhile, the match against Zambia marked Teboho Mokoena’s 50th Bafana Bafana cap match.
