The two actors shared a touching moment, holding hands and laughing together as photographers called out their names. They were demonstrating how much they cherish this professional turning point. For the evening, both celebrities opted for glitzy, daring ensembles.
Mosaku dazzled in an elegant black gown with sheer cape sleeves that added movement and mystery to her appearance. Meanwhile, Lawson shimmered in a metallic silver long-sleeved top paired with a stylish dark miniskirt by Antonio Grimaldi.

Hailee Steinfeld, Jayme Lawson & Wunmi Mosaku Honor Female Power in Hollywood
They weren’t the only ones having fun. Ryan Coogler, the director of Sinners, and his wife, producer Zinzi Coogler, have supported the movie. They also supported its rising actors from the beginning and joined them. Together with their co-star Hailee Steinfeld, Lawson and Mosaku received their Women in Hollywood awards this year. It was a great moment for the cast and the narrative they have contributed to.
Lawson, Mosaku, and Steinfeld discussed the film’s potent themes in their ELLE cover story. They talked about how costume design played a significant role in forming their characters. Working with renowned designer Ruth E. Carter was like entering a master class in fashion storytelling.
Early in the filming process, Mosaku recounted a turning point. She described how Carter meticulously examines each actor, uncovering fresh nuances and emotional depths each time.
“You come in and immediately realize you’ve joined a different dimension of textiles, shades, and inspirations all over. I wouldn’t be able to process it all for hours if I stood there.” Steinfeld chuckled as she recalled a protracted argument about the smallest differences in the color soft beige. “Maybe someone would say, ‘These are the same. For Ruth, each shade carries an aura and a purpose,” she said.
It became clear throughout the evening that this occasion represented more than just style and pictures. For Lawson, Mosaku, and Steinfeld, Women in Hollywood was a celebration of teamwork and the strength of women working together. The Sinners stars are demonstrating that they belong at the forefront of the industry. By continuing to shine on film and on the red carpet, they are only getting started.
