(The Post News) – The late Black Panther movie star, Chardwick Boseman received a posthumous star. The ceremony took place on Thursday, 20th November 2025. It was held on Hollywood Boulevard. His widow, Simone Ledward Boseman, was there to witness and honor this tribute. Award-winning actress, Viola Davis, also attended. Director, Ryan Coogler, was present too.
Long Live Chardwick Boseman
Boseman closed his eyes for the last time on the 28th of August 2020 after battling colon cancer. He was well-known for his character, “T’Challa” in the Black Panther movie, which was first broadcasted in 2018. Boseman earned accolades and critical acclaim for his role in 21 Bridges. He also received praise for his performances in Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom and Lee’s Da 5 Bloods.
Viola Davis, co-star in Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom, paid her tribute and described Boseman as a “castle”. Davis said Boseman was a powerful and inspiring force. He brought out the kind of magic everyone seeks. It was a magic with a source of meaning. She celebrates him and hopes the angels welcome him into a peaceful rest.
Davis further stated that she is grateful to met and worked alongside him and leaving something in her. A heightened sense of understanding of her work and purpose. “As beautiful as this star is, it shines a lot less than Chadwick in heaven.”
Director of Black Panther, Coogler, described Boseman as a fearless, firm yet gentle leader. He also said Boseman was “ageless.” He never really knew his age until he attended one of his birthday parties. He further described him as a calm and wise man and had an unnerving aura around him.
Simone, Boseman’s widow, accepted the star on behalf of her late husband. She then proceeded to the stage to share a few words. Simone said Chadwick taught everyone around him so much and that he had a very generous heart. He could give a unique part of himself to each person. He always had enough to spare for the rest of the world.
Other celebrities who honored the invite were Micheal. B. Jordan and Letita Write, who were co-stars in the Black Panther movie. Boseman’s siblings being Derrick. L. Boseman and Kevin Boseman were also present in the honorary ceremony.
