(The Post News)- A prominent Limpopo musician, Lehlohonolo Chauke, popularly known as Shebe Maburna, has been accused of attempting to bribe his way out of trouble, with allegations that some police officers and National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) officials are being investigated for alleged misconduct.
Shebe Maburna faces multiple counts of attempted murder and assault
Shebe Maburna is currently applying for bail in the Polokwane Magistrate’s Court, facing multiple counts of attempted murder and assault. Warrant Officer Phaladi Makola, the investigating officer, revealed that some officers and court officials allegedly aided the musician in securing bail in his previous court appearances.

Makola stated that the offences were committed while Shebe Maburna was out on bail, raising concerns about the effectiveness of the justice system. “It’s clear that some individuals within the system are working against us, undermining our efforts to bring justice to the victims,” Makola said.
The allegations have sparked outrage, with many calling for a thorough investigation into the matter. Shebe Maburna’s case has been marred by controversy, with allegations of intimidation and interference with witnesses.
Police and NPA officials under investigation for alleged misconduct
Makola revealed that an investigation has been launched into the alleged misconduct of police and NPA officials, with several individuals already being probed. “We will leave no stone unturned in our quest to uncover the truth and bring those responsible to book,” Makola emphasized.
The NPA has assured the public that it will take a dim view of any attempts to undermine the justice system. “We will not tolerate corruption or misconduct within our ranks,” said NPA spokesperson, Therese Maila.
Shebe Maburna’s lawyer, Advocate Sipho Phiri, denied any wrongdoing, saying his client was being unfairly targeted. “Shebe Maburna is a law-abiding citizen who has always cooperated with the authorities,” Phiri said.
The investigation into the alleged misconduct of police and NPA officials is ongoing, with more arrests expected.
