(The Post News)- Dan Ashworth, Manchester United’s sporting director, formally announced his departure from the team on Sunday, shortly after five months of service to the club.
“Dan Ashworth will be stepping down as Manchester United’s sporting director by mutual agreement,” the statement says. We wish Dan the best of luck in the future and appreciate his efforts and assistance during a time of change for the club. On July 1st, the 53-year-old was appointed; he reported to Omar Berrada, the recently appointed Chief Executive Officer (CEO), and was in charge of football performance and recruitment.
Newcastle United and other Premiership clubs have previously used his sporting directing services. He also served as West Bromwich Albion and Hove Albion’s technical director. He was also the director of elite development at the FA. Erik ten Hag was fired as manager of Manchester United in October. Then he was replaced by Ruben Amorim, a Portuguese coach.
