(The Post News)- Wolves successfully signed Marshall Munetsi, a midfielder for Reims, and Nasser Djiga, a defender for Red Star Belgrade, on deadline day. They join defender Emmanuel Agbadou, who also signed from Reims, in committing to long-term contracts during the January transfer window.
Djiga, a 22-year-old Burkina Faso international, has played in all eight of Red Star Belgrade’s Champions League group stage games this season, totaling 27 appearances. Munetsi, a 28-year-old Zimbabwean international, has made only two appearances for Reims this season in the French Cup.
“Djiga will serve a four-and-a-half-year contract at Molineux, while Munetsi has signed a three-and-a-half-year contract through 2027, with an option to extend for another 12 months,” Chairman Jeff Shi stated.
Shi added that it was essential to support manager Vitor Pereira during this window, and the signings represent a strong investment for the club. He further stated that they are looking forward to seeing Djiga develop under their coaching staff. To finalize Munetsi’s deal, Shi said, “We’re pleased to bring an experienced player into the group at an important time of the season.”
In the Premier League, Wolves are currently ranked 17th, two points clear of the relegation zone.
