(The Post News)- The Springboks have kicked off their preparations for the 2025 season with a productive alignment camp in Cape Town, setting the groundwork for what lies ahead. Coach Rassie Erasmus expressed his satisfaction with the opening session, which followed an intensive weekend workshop for the coaching staff.
The invited players arrived in the Mother City on Monday, with Tuesday’s programme structured to establish a clear vision for the season. The day began with a gym session before transitioning into boardroom discussions led by Erasmus, Springbok General Manager Charles Wessels, and other coaches. The sessions provided players with insights into the team’s strategic objectives and expectations.
Erasmus highlighted the value of the coaches’ workshop preceding the alignment camp, noting that each specialist coach focused on their respective areas to identify key improvements for the season. He emphasised that the discussions allowed the coaching team to fully align their approach and set a clear direction for the squad.
Reflecting on the first day, Erasmus praised the enthusiasm shown by both newcomers and experienced players. He noted that the players embraced the information and structures presented to them, underscoring their eagerness to contribute to the team’s goals.
The alignment camp continues on Wednesday with further presentations from the coaching team, ensuring players leave with a clear understanding of their roles and what it takes to be part of the squad. Two more alignment camps are scheduled, followed by a training camp in June, before the Boks shift into match mode in July.
