(The Post News)– Western Province wrapped up their campaign in emphatic fashion, sealing a commanding 48-run victory over the Hollywoodbets Dolphins Ladies at WSB Newlands. With the title already secured, they capped off their season with another dominant performance.
Nadine de Klerk led the charge with a superb 74, while Kayla Reyneke’s unbeaten 36* helped the hosts post a competitive 142-8. Reyneke then turned in a match-winning spell, claiming 4-10 to skittle the Dolphins for 94.
As newly crowned champions, Western Province were also presented with the Hollywoodbets Pro20 Trophy. Crafted from glass and brass, the trophy embodies the essence of T20 cricket—its sleek glass design symbolising clarity and precision, while the brass details reflect strength and intensity.
The DP World Lions and Fidelity Titans faced off in a tense encounter at the DP World Wanderers Stadium. Anneke Bosch (79*) and Sune Luus (51) guided the Titans to 149-9 before their bowlers held their nerve to secure a 12-run victory, restricting the Lions to 137-6.
In Bloemfontein, the Six Gun Grill Garden Route Badgers edged out the Knights by two wickets. Yolandi Potgieter anchored the Knights’ innings, setting a target of 117-8, but a determined chase saw the Badgers cross the line with three balls remaining.
