(The Post News)– Gujarat Titans skipper Shubman Gill says South African pacer Kagiso Rabada needs a bit more time in the nets before making his Indian Premier League (IPL) return.
“He is back in time, but we thought he might need a couple more practice sessions to be able to get back in the groove,” Gill explained at the toss.
The Titans confirmed Rabada’s availability on Monday, with the player reportedly accepting full responsibility and expressing remorse for his actions.
Rabada has only featured in two matches this IPL season. Despite limited game time, the Proteas spearhead remains a key figure in South African cricket, with 327 Test wickets to his name. He is expected to lead South Africa’s attack in the World Test Championship final against Australia at Lord’s on 11 June.
Gujarat currently sits fourth on the IPL table with four league matches remaining. The top four sides advance to the playoffs, and Rabada’s return could yet prove vital for the 2022 champions.
