The Indian Premier League is set to resume on May 17 after India and Pakistan agreed to ceasefire. This League was suspended due to tensions between the two countries in May 8, 2025. After Pakistan tried to invade India and forced blackout in the stadium.
Which resulted an unrest that affected more than 50 people. The conflict killed 27 people, counting 25 Hindu tourists, one Christian tourist, and a local Muslim. The standoff was sparked by 2025 Pahalgam attack, a terrorist attack in the Baisaran Valley and Kashmir.

The blackout happened with the expectation of a match between Delhi Capitals and Punjab Kings. Upon resumption only six venues will be used. The Mumbai, Bengaluru, Delhi, Jaipur, Lucknow, and Ahmedabad. With a total of 17 matches left and a double header expected.
