(The Post News)– American R&B singer Chris Brown, 36, has been remanded in custody in the United Kingdom until June 13, 2025, following charges of grievous bodily harm with intent related to an alleged assault at a London nightclub in February 2023.
The incident reportedly involved Brown attacking music producer Abraham Diaw with a bottle at the Tape club in London’s Mayfair district, resulting in serious injuries.
Brown was arrested on May 15, 2025, at The Lowry Hotel in Manchester, where he was staying ahead of his European tour. During his court appearance at Manchester Magistrates’ Court on May 16, Judge Joanne Hirst denied bail, citing the severity of the charges and the risk of flight, and referred the case to Southwark Crown Court for a plea and trial preparation hearing scheduled for June 13.
A second individual, Omololu Akinlolu, known professionally as HoodyBaby and a close associate of Brown, has also been charged with grievous bodily harm with intent in connection to the same incident. The charges carry a maximum sentence of 16 years in prison. Diaw has also filed a civil lawsuit seeking £12 million (approximately $16 million) in damages for the injuries sustained during the alleged assault.
