The Belgian assist king, Kevin De Bruyne, said goodbye to Manchester City after spending a decade with the club. The 33-year-old midfielder marked his last appearance at the Etihad Stadium on Tuesday night when City locked horns with Bournemouth.
The Citizens bid an emotional farewell to the club legend, who shone for a decade with the club he is set to leave this coming summer when his contract expires. The Tuesday game had them beating Bournemouth 3-1, sending the legend off with a win.
Supporters and the football community posted tribute videos appreciating KDB’s service. After the match, teammates gave him a guard of honor, and people close to him gave him messages. Then, the club announced that the legend’s statue has been commissioned, and he will be joining legends outside the Etihad Stadium. De Bruyne showed gratitude and appreciation, stating, “I will always be part of this club… I will be able to see myself, so I will always be here.”
He will be joining the club’s all-time greats and legends of decades past, like Francis Lee, Mike Summerbee, David Silva, Sergio Aguero, and many others who have lived for The Blues.
