Morwa Ngwato Traditional Council in Ga Marišane under Makhuduthamaga Municipality at Ga Sekhukhune, in Limpopo Province. Has today welcomed a new King. This marks a vital occasion in the cultural and traditional leadership calendar of the Ga Marišane Community.
Contralesa, Kgoši Rammupudu Mokwana, has delivered a message of support to Kgoši Marishane. They conveyed a message to Kgoši Tseke that in the kingdom-ship it is not easy there are tough strides. But as king, you need to keep up.
They also thanked the Limpopo Provincial Government for fast-tracking kingdom acknowledgment in the vicinity. Hosi Pheni Ngove from Limpopo House of Traditional Leaders extended that Ga Marišane is where education started because no place had Secondary school in the 50s, but only Marišane when there was still Bopedi-Bapedi. We worked together with Lebowa Government Service as Contralesa along with ANC and Mandela at that time. We are not surprised when Kgoši Tseke is an advocate, education is fashionable in this community.
“As Kings of Limpopo, we are here to congratulate you on your new journey. You were born a king from a young age we cannot teach you anything. We never heard you are fighting for kingdom ship we say big up for that. Know you have taken from Kgoši Hlabirwa wa Ngwato le Mogošadi keep the track going. We have seen you from a council that you are dedicated and have enthusiast to reach phenomenal milestones,” Hosi Pheni added.
Pan African Parliament, Bridget Motsepe says that Communities should own not less than 5% of the mines that are operating from their land to be able to be empowered through royalties. We inherited political emancipation to grow communities economically. As parents, we should teach kids our African ways not to lose their culture. To the King, please follow and conquer what your nation wants.
Minister in the Presidency Responsible for Planning, Monitoring, and Evaluation, Maruping Ramokgopa says “We are here to celebrate the dawn of a new era of Ga Marishane placing of a new King we are just following procedure as the king is acknowledged from birth”.
“I’ve been sent to acknowledge that at Ga Marishane there is too much rich religious history. The acknowledgment of the history of education reaffirms the good governance done by the Sekhukhune Seniors Morwa Ngwato Traditional Council. I was also sent to give my king a stick and a hat to lead us with wisdom,” says Ramokgopa.
The Premier of Limpopo Province has delegated MEC for Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs, Basikomo Makamu, to officially present Kgoši Tseke Kgopotso Marishane ‘Mmaswi wa Hlabirwa’ for Morwa Ngwato Traditional as the King of Ga Marišane.
The Limpopo Provincial Governance presented a certificate and a chair to the King as a symbol of honour and acknowledgment to him and only him, as a King.
Kgoši Tseke Marišane highlighted that he is proud of his community for showing that they still stand to support their Traditional House. That shows they will never hand their community to Hyenas and therefore he kneels and praises them.
