(The Post News)– The South African national football team secured four points from their group-stage campaign and finished first in Group A. As a result, they clinched their spot in the Council of Southern African Football Association (COSAFA) Cup 2025 semi-finals.
Bafana Bafana has used a combination of tactical discipline and tenacity to get to the knockout stage. After winning 2-0 against Zimbabwe, drawing 0-0 with Mauritius, and losing 0-1 to Mozambique, South Africa finished first in Group A with 4 points, securing a spot in the COSAFA Cup 2025 semifinals.
Goal difference was prioritised in the tiebreaker in accordance with COSAFA regulations. They will play the victor of Group D in Bloemfontein on June 13. Although there are those who question the fairness of tiebreakers, the procedure complies with tournament rules.
