FIFA Club World Cup wonders keeps on keeping. On Friday, Flamengo dominated possession and pressed relentlessly against Chelsea who took a 1-0 lead through a clinical counterattack.
However, in the second half, the Brazilians capitalised on defensive errors to overturn the score. Bruno Henrique leveled the score at 62 minutes, canceling Pedro Neto’s opening goal.
Danilo Da Silva stretched the lead to 2-1 at 65′. With an assist from Bruno as they press The Blues. But Plata made a sure assist to Wallack Yan to score a winning goal, seven minutes before end of the game normal time, making the score 3-1.
Nicolas Jackson got a red card for a serious foul minutes after Flamengo stretched to two goals. The speed agility of the Brazilian-based team was too much for Chelsea defense.
With Yan’s close-range finish sealing a 3-1 victory. Despite Chelsea’s resilience, the numerical disadvantage proved too much to overcome. Flamengo’s comeback demonstrated their quality and determination on the big stage.
The Club World Cup have today provided miracles. Starting with Paris Saint-Germain losing 1-0 to the Brazilian side Botafogo. Flamengo tops Group G’s log with six points, sane as Botafogo at Group B.
