(The Post News)- The family of journalist Aserie Ndlovu has bid a final farewell to their beloved son, brother, and partner, on what would have been his 39th birthday. Ndlovu and his partner, Zodwa Mdhluli, were laid to rest on Friday, June 20, 2025, in KwaMhlanga, Mpumalanga, after DNA results confirmed their identities more than a month after their bodies were discovered with gunshot wounds.
Ndlovu and Mdhluli, a couple with children, went missing in February 2025. They were last seen on February 18, and their bodies were later found in Rust de Winter, Limpopo, in May. The police investigation led to the arrest of eight suspects, including a person believed to be an employee of the couple, who was last seen with them.
Authorities confirmed that the couple was abducted, robbed, and murdered. The suspects face charges of kidnapping, robbery, and murder. On June 20, 2025, the suspects appeared in court, and the matter was postponed to July 4, 2025.
Ndlovu’s loved ones paid tribute to him, describing him as a passionate journalist and a dedicated individual who was committed to his work and community development. “We lost a giant… he was very passionate about township development and his trade,” said one attendee. “It’s a pity, we have lost a soldier, we have lost a builder.”
The case remains an ongoing investigation, and the community continues to await justice for Ndlovu and Mdhluli.
