(The Post News)- Hip-Hop mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs has been denied bail after being found guilty on two counts of transportation for prostitution. He will remain in prison until the sentencing set for October 3, 2025.
Diddy is facing up to a maximum of 20 years in prison — 10 years for each count — after being found guilty yesterday of transporting individuals, including his former girlfriend Cassie and a woman who testified under the pseudonym name “Jane,” across state lines for prostitution in elaborate “Freak Off” or “Hotel Nights” parties.
The Diddy trial has captured widespread media attention due to the high-profile nature of the Bad Boy Records founder, one of hip-hop’s most successful moguls, and the severity of the charges he faces.
His lawyers requested his immediate release; however, Judge Arun Subramanian denied him bail, citing Combs’s history of coercion and violence as the reasons for the denial. At the bail hearing, the judge sided with the prosecutors and told the defense, “You full-throatedly, in your closing argument, told the jury that there was violence here.”
Diddy will instead get credit for the time he has served.
He has been acquitted of the more serious charges of racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking, which would have him facing up to life in prison. Legal experts and his defence team predict that, given the charges and time already served, Combs may ultimately face only a few more months to at most two years behind bars — far less than the statutory maximum.
The trial is far from over as a divided public continues to watch closely, waiting to see whether Diddy will receive a harsh or lenient sentence.
