Liverpool stun Bournemouth in EPL opening match

(The Post News)- Liverpool humbled AFC Bournemouth in a thrilling six goals for the English Premiership League opening match on Thursday night at Anfield Stadium. The Reds beat Bournemouth 4-2, marking a strong defense of the EPL trophy.

Liverpool new signing, Hugo Ekitike opened the scoring line at the 37th minute of the game assisted by Mac Allister. Bagging a first half win with one goal leading.Cody Gakpo registered himself on the scoring sheet getting an assist from Ekitike.

Just four minutes after the start of second half. However, Bournemouth to get back in the game with Antoine Semenyo securing a brace to put the game level 2-2.

First goal at 64′ assisted by David Brooks and at 76′, with an assist from Hamed Traore. The defending league champions made changes to fight for the three points. Federico Chiesa stretched the score to 3-2 at 88 minutes coming in as a substitute at 82′.

Then Liverpool star, Mohammed Salah sealed the win scoring at 90 plus, assisted by Wataru Endo. The opening game of the EPL for Liverpool marked the remembrance of Diego Jota, who died in a car accident on July 3 this year. Jota was Liverpool’s forward and a winger.
