Although Sekhukhune United and Durban City FC, formerly Maritzburg United. Have shown interest, he is currently joined Kaizer Chiefs “Amakhosi for Life”.
Before the transaction was finalised, the 30-year-old who was formerly a member of Chiefs’ development structures, will have to go through a standard medical examination.
Maboe and Chiefs personal terms have reportedly agreed upon. With the Soweto giants competing in the CAF Confederation Cup this season and shielding Nedbank Cup as victors there is a notion that his experience could be important.
There is a belief that his experience could be useful given that the Soweto giants are playing in the CAF Confederation Cup this season.
It is also believed that the flexible midfielder who can play a variety of positions but is mostly an attacking midfielder. Would significantly deepen the midfield.
Kaizer Chiefs are reorganizing their midfield as seen by his impending signing and the previous acquisition of Siphesihle Ndlovu. This action comes after Edson Castillo and captain Yusuf Maart left.
Maboe established himself at Maritzburg United prior to joining Sundowns in the 2017–18 campaign. He made 183 games, scored 20 goals, and provided 23 assists during his illustrious tenure with the Brazilians. Which also included an amazing nine major trophies, including five league titles.
He was used as a centre forward 12 times and as a winger in 72 games, although his primary position was attacking midfield. He also had a few appearances as a right-back.
Kazier Chiefs successfully acquires the service of Maboe a week after Coach Nasrredine Nabi got back from home. Nabi spend almost three weeks home after his wife was involved in a car accident.

It is will lock horns with Maboe’s former club Masandawana this evening at FNB Stadium. However, the new signing will not be available to make his debut with his ex-employer.

Kaizer Chiefs comes from a poor performance that saw it having different coaches in a space of eight years. At least Nabi was able to lift the Nedbank Cup after a log cup draught.
For now, only few signings made their appearances with Chiefs. As the club solidifies their squad for Nedbank defending champions, CAF Confederations, and also the league.
South African Football has changed in the passed years with so many clubs dying and some emerging. It is no longer only about the two Soweto Giants, now every opponent is a difficult one.
Chiefs signing shows determination as it rarely did in the few past years. Fans believe Nabi is done cooking, he is about to be dishing.
