(The Post News) – The Free State High Court postponed the case against convicted murderer and rapist Thabo Bester and his co-accused. The postponement was for a case management hearing, which serves as a final check to ensure that all parties are prepared for the main trial.
The removal of Bester’s attorney, Advocate Lerato Moela, from the case was a key develpment at today’s hearing. Advocate MoAfrica Wa Maila, a new lawyer, has now taken over the case.
The court verified the bail status of a number of the defendants throughout the hearing. Magudumana is still being held as Accused Number One. The previously approved but unissued arrest warrant for Accused Number Two has been revoked, and their bail requirements have been increased. On the same terms, bail has also been extended for Accused Numbers Three, Four, Six, and Nine, while Accused Numbers Seven and Eight are still being held.
The next case management hearing is scheduled for December 5, 2025, at 9:30 AM in the Free State High Court.
