(The Post News) – On Monday, ousted Duke of York Prince Andrew was spotted alongside his ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson, the same day she was dropped as patron of four children’s charities due to an email addressed to “friend” Jeffrey Epstein.
In the email from April 2011, Duchess of York Sarah “humbly apologized” to Epstein, whom she described as a “supreme friend,” for associating him with pedophilia in an interview with the Evening Standard a month prior. In the interview, she had to answer and apologize for having received £15,000 from the disgraced billionaire and sexual offender.
Her spokesperson later explained that Ferguson sent the message after Epstein’s team threatened legal action. In the note, she wrote, “I know you feel hellaciously let down by me from what you were either told or read, and I must humbly apologize to you and your heart for that.”
The charities Julia’s House, the Children’s Literacy Charity, the Teenage Cancer Trust, and Julia’s House children’s hospice thanked Ferguson for her years of service but said it would be inappropriate to continue their association with her in light of the Epstein case.
Prince Andrew’s Connection to Epstein
Her former husband, Prince Andrew, the younger brother of King Charles, faced similar consequences in 2019 when he was forced to step back from royal duties due to his friendship with Epstein. The late Queen Elizabeth barred him from official royal engagements in an attempt to protect her son and the monarchy from public scrutiny.
According to the Daily Mail, the unsealed Epstein files reportedly contain a cache of emails linked to Andrew that could shed further light on his relationship with the financier. These messages are said to be more damaging than Ferguson’s.
On Monday morning, the pair were photographed leaving Windsor Castle, marking the first time they had been seen together publicly since the Duchess of Kent’s funeral on September 16.
