(The Post News) – Orlando Pirates extended their winning streak in the Betway Premiership to four matches after defeating Siwelele FC 1-0 at Toyota Stadium on Tuesday, 23 September 2025.
Pirates started the match at their high peak and nearly scored early when Relebohile Mofokeng took a wide range shot from Deon Hotto’s pass. However former Pirates winger Vincent Pule want to get one over his previous team with a header after cutting in from the right, but he went wide of Sipho Chaine’s goal.
Maswanganyi took a chance and shot Ricardo Goss from a distance just before the 45th minute, but the goalkeeper was untroubled. The Buccaneers didn’t lose focus in the closing stages and managed in the final minutes to secure their fourth successive win in the league.
The win takes them to the fourth position, while it condemned the struggling Siwelele to yet another loss.
Fans at Toyota Stadium were buzzing after the final whistle. “Appollis changed the game completely when he came on. His energy togather with Makgopa gave us that spark we were missing,” stated Pirates fan.
The fan added that, “Four wins in a row! The confidence is back. If we keep this momentum, nobody will stop us.”
Siwelele fans said the team signed new player, thus promising better results for upcoming games. “We’re not far off. The new signings will make a big difference once they settle in. Tonight showed we can compete with the best,” Thabo Mofokeng said.
Mfokeng stated that they lost the game, but he saw the team fighting. “Pule and Lungu worked hard, and if we stay consistent, we’ll start winning games,” he said.
