(The Post News)– The South African Weather Service (SAWS) has forecasted a cool and windy day for Cape Town, with temperatures expected to reach a high of 18°C and drop to a low of 11°C on Thursday, 16 October 2025.
According to SAWS, the UV index will rise to a moderate level of 4. SAWS added that residents are advised to apply sun protection during the warmer hours. “The city will experience mostly cloudy skies, with 69% cloud cover throughout the day and 49% expected this evening,” SAWS stated in a statement.
the weather service also noted that that a southeast wind will dominate the day, blowing at an average speed of 39 kilometres per hour and producing gale-force gusts of up to 72 kph. “Conditions will ease slightly by evening, with a southeasterly breeze at 17 kph, although gusts may still reach 69 kph,” the statement noted.
SAWS also predicts a 25% chance of precipitation during the day, but no rain is expected tonight, with a 0% probability of precipitation. Moreover, it has been reported that the sunrise was at 6:04am, and sunset is expected at 7pm, marking another crisp spring day for the Mother City.
Meanwhile, residents are advised to secure outdoor items and dress warmly as the strong winds and cool temperatures continue to sweep through the region.
