(The Post News)- Rapper “Shebeshxt”, whose true name is Lehlogonolo Chauke, is the subject of a criminal inquiry once more. The “Ke Di Shxt Malume” hitmaker allegedly shot a driver during a furious road rage altercation in Polokwane earlier this month, leaving the victim critically injured.
Shebeshxt and the other driver got into a petrol station after arguing on the road, according to police reports. Shebeshxt allegedly pulled out a gun, shot the victim in the stomach, and fled the scene as the verbal altercation intensified.
The victim was taken to a nearby Polokwane hospital by emergency personnel, where he is still in the intensive care unit. An attempted murder case was subsequently opened by Limpopo police, and it has since been forwarded to the provincial murder and robbery section for additional investigation. Malesela Ledwaba, a police spokesperson, confirmed that the agency has stepped up its investigation.
According to multiple internet sources, Shebeshxt turned himself in to the police after the incident while accompanied by his legal team. He was temporarily held by the authorities before being released while the investigation was ongoing.
This is the rapper’s latest run-in with the law. A widely shared video earlier this year showed Shebeshxt fighting with a large knife. He was seen in the video unzipping his jacket, taking out what looked to be a knife, and charging at someone.
Prosecutors charged him with attempted murder in 2022 after he reportedly stabbed a man in Lebowakgomo, Limpopo. Shebeshxt has not yet made a public remark about the latest accusations.
