(The Post News)- Luke Littler won the 2025 Grand Slam of Darts title with a composed 16–11 victory. He triumphed over Luke Humphries in Wolverhampton. He sealed the win with a cool and confident 96 checkout. It capped off a performance characterized by steady scoring. His calm decision-making stood out. He showed an ability to rise to the moment whenever the match tightened. He has been named the World’s number one youngest Grand Slam.
The opening legs were balanced, with both players showing flashes of brilliance alongside a bit of early caution. Littler held throw to get things started and quickly nudged ahead with an early break for 2–0. Humphries, after a slightly shaky start, hit back with a break of his own. He began to settle. However, Littler looked sharper when reaching finishing ranges.
At 5–5, the game reached its first real turning point. Humphries suddenly found his best rhythm of the afternoon. He strung together three straight legs to move 7–5 up. This briefly wrestled momentum away. For the first time, Littler looked under real pressure.
But the 18 year old shut that door almost immediately. He steadied himself with a neat 81 checkout, then shifted gears again.
A standout moment occurred when Littler produced a stunning 167 finish. This happened right after Humphries narrowly missed out on a 170. That single visit felt like a statement. It served as a reminder of who was really in control. It marked the start of a more dominant phase for Littler.
He surged 10–9 ahead from there. This happened after he fired in back-to-back 180s. The doubles didn’t always come easily, but he kept the upper hand. A clinical 160 checkout widened the gap even further, leaving Humphries chasing a game he could no longer dictate.

Speaking to Sky Sports afterwards, Littler admitted the day had not started easily. “I have got to say it was a tough job getting up this morning. No one likes playing in the afternoon, but you have to get through it. Once I got over the line, I knew I was number one.”
