(The Post News) – The pageantry season has drawn to a close as Fatima Bosch (Miss Mexico) was crowned a winner of the 74th Miss Universe pageant on 21st November, 2025. The ceremony took place in Bangkok, Thailand, after weeks controversial incidents interfering with its progress. The Mexican national from Tabasco city was ordained by the previous year’s winner, Victoria Theilvig from Denmark.
The top five was occupied by Praveenar Singh (Thailand) in second place, Stephanie Abasali (Venezuela) in third place, Ahtisa Manalo (Phillipines) in third, and Olivia Yace (Ivory Coast) in last. Representatives from across 120 states competed, including Palestinian, Nadeen Ayoub who is the first in history to represent her country. Ayoub reached the top 30 before elimination.
American comedian, Steve Byrne was the Master of Ceremony and opened with a performance from Thai singer/songwriter, Jeff Satur.
Fatima Bosch in The Spotlight
As typical standard procedure, Bosch was asked how will her title contribute to creating a safer environment for women. She said as a woman and Miss Universe, she intends to use her voice and influence for servitude towards others. Emphasizing on this being a time to speak out, create change and stay aware. Bosch believes that women who are brave enough to stand their ground are those who will shape history.
The competition commenced on the 5th of November 2025 with a sashing ceremony. Bosch’s victory emerged against after the pageant’s most recent controversial act.
Bosch and others brought a “stand still” to the world as they walked out of an alleged event, earlier this month. Nawat Itsaragrisil, a Thai executive, had publicly underrated and humiliated her in the presence of dozens of contestants. Threats were posed on Bosch based on disqualifying her from the competition due to her failure in posting promotional content. Two judges filed for resignation from the pageant two hours prior the event, one of them accusing the organizers of foul play in the competition.
As this took place, Bosch expressed her dissatisfaction with Itsaragrisil and said he does not respect her as a woman. He was prompted to call security on her. Other contestants inclusive of Victoria Theilwig walked in solitude and left the event. Raul Rocha Cantu, Miss Universe President released a statement expressing his disapproval of the violation of women dignity and respect. Nawat Itsaragrisil made an apology on social media directed to anyone who felt uncomfortable or affected by his actions.
Injury Update on Gabrielle Henry (Miss Jamaica)
On Wednesday, 19th November 2025, Miss Jamaica, Gabrielle Henry suffered an injury and was taken away on a stretcher. She fell during the preliminary evening gown round of the pageant. Footage which circulated online by Meeki Modez, indicates Henry walking down the runway. After turning to walk back up on stage, she suddenly fell off the stage. She was carried away with a stretcher from stage.
Henry was rushed to Paolo Rangsit Hospital near Bangkok, according to a Facebook post shared by the Miss Universe Jamaica Organization
Rocha shared an update on Friday, 21st November 2025, on the condition of Gabrielle Henry, stating that she had left the hospital at 12;00am from checking in on Henry. They are no broken bones and is under good care, Rocha said. Henry has been reported to remain under observation for the remainder of the night.
According to an X post, Henry is an opthalmologist who is the founder of See Me Foundation, a charity that supports people who suffer from visual impairity in her home country, Jamaica.
