The event was attended by several dignitaries, including Gauteng Premier Panyaza Lesufi, Minister of Sport Gayton Mckenzie, and former Bafana players Aaron Mokoena and Siphiwe Tshabalala. Current Bafana captain Ronwen Williams was also in attendance.
The trophy will be taken to the Pretoria State Theater for the second leg, followed by a visit to the Nasrec Expo Centre on Saturday. The final leg of the tour will be in Cape Town on Sunday.
