Former One Direction Young Star, Liam Payne Dies At 31

Fans and family left heartbroken after a sudden death of One Direction’s Liam Payne at a young age.

(The Post News)- A 31-year-old Talented singer and a former member of the chart-topping British boy band One Direction Liam Payne has passed away on Wednesday after falling from a hotel balcony in Buenos Aires, Argentina according to local officials. Payne had earlier this month arrived in Argentina for his ex-bandmate Niall Horan’s concert with his girlfriend Kate Cassidy who later left, and he stayed.

Liam Payne, born on 29 August 1993, in Wolverhampton, in England, he rose to fame after auditioning at age 16 for “The X Factor” in 2010 with the combination of other contestants Harris Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Niall Horan and Zayn Malik to form one of the most successful bands in the music industry the “One Direction”.

In 2013 after the group’s dissolution, Payne pursued a solo career, shifting toward EDM and hip-hop, and had his single in 2017 “Strip That Down” which he featured Quavo reaching the Billboard Top 10 and on the charts for several months. He had an album put out “LP1” in 2019 and his last single release called “Teardrops” was in March.

Payne has once openly struggled with alcoholism, sharing his video sobriety on YouTube in July 2023 where he revealed that he had been sober for six months after receiving treatment.

However, local authorities had reported that Payne fell from the third floor of the Casa Sur Hotel, where he sustained severe serious injuries and medics confirmed his death at the scene.

According to the call the manager had with 911, Payne was described as overwhelmed and destroying his entire room. Authorities are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding his death and conducting an autopsy.

The communications director for the Buenos Aires Security Ministry, Pablo Policicchio, stated that Payne had jumped from his room’s balcony and the police had rushed to the hotel after receiving an emergency call that had a warning of an aggressive man potentially under the influence of alcohol and drugs.

One Direction’s Fans flocked to the Buenos Aires to Casa Sur Hotel after the news broke out. Many expressed shocks at Payne’s death at a young age, with one fan stating that she never thought that he would die so soon. Another fan lamented that there would never be another One Direction Reunion ever in this lifetime.

Payne lives behind his 7-year-old son, Bear Grey Payne, whom he had with his former ex-girlfriend, Cheryl who was an “X Factor” judge during the One Direction’s season.
