(The Post News)- The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) Member of Parliament (MP), Carl Niehaus says he is going nowhere after the wave of departures in the party where the South African political followers have only one question in mind-who is next?
In the past two months, the EFF MPs including the former party deputy president Floyd Shivambu, advocate Busisiwe Mkhwebane, and Fana Mokwena, among others, have left the party to join the uMkhonto Wesizwe party (MKP) led by the former president Jacob Zuma.
However, speaking to scores of EFF members in Thabazimbi over the weekend, Niehaus has confirmed he won’t leave the red berets now and ever. He reminds the party’s supporters about his loyalty to the EFF and his commitment.
According to Niehaus, who was once known as an ally of Zuma, asking him if he will follow the EFF MPs who have just left the party to join the MKP is a senseless question as he believes there’s no good home for him than EFF led by Julius Malema.
Niehaus made it clear that he was against Zuma’s decision to form the MKP in December 2023 after being ‘ill-treated’ by the African National Congress (ANC) National Executive Committee (NEC) members.
Niehaus was shown an exit from the ANC on December 2023 by the ANC NEC after being found guilty of six charges of misconduct and defending Zuma when he was arrested for contempt of court after failing to appear at the state capture inquiry.
